To celebrate the Crime Dagger Awards there's an evening with Constable & Robinson author Simon Brett. The talk and book signing is at Waterlooville Library on Thursday 18 October 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

Delve into the darker sides of Portsmouth's two greatest writers, Charles Dickens and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and explore Spiritualism using the Arthur Conan Doyle Collection, while author Lynn Shepherd discusses the darker side of Dickens and how it inspired her thrilling new novel from Corsair, Tom-All-Alone's.
This event is part of the Portsmouth BookFest 2012, and takes place on Wednesday 31 October in Square Tower at 7.00pm. Tickets are £5. Please note this event is not suitable for children.
